@TGJ September newsletter
Dear
Jammers,
Did
you have a good summer? We have! Things have been quiet on the
jamming front but Penny has been performing in Edinburgh with Lyra’s
Lone Wolf. The reviews have been amazing! Laura has been traveling
around Europe all summer and we are both ready to start our jams
again.
This
newsletter is to remind you of all the lovely goodies we have
prepared for you this Autumn. This will beat the summer blues!
Penny
will be leading the class
in London on the 16th
September.
If you are around do drop in to dance with her!
Our
@TGJ
jams
resume on Sunday 17 September with
the wonderful Niamh O'Loughlin. We
are so delighted to welcome her as a facilitator (she already is one
of our regular jammers). Niamh is currently a student at the Space in
Dundee and she will share learnings from her dance training in the CI
class. What a treat!
There
are only a very small number of places available for our Nicolás
Nuñez workshop,
‘The Sacred Art of Acting’ (see
flyer below). If you want to come don’t delay booking!
We
are in full preparation for Dominic
Snyder’s exhibition ‘Jam’
at the Glad Café in October. Below is an invitation to the show and
the opening party. Dominic is the artist who drew our logo and, yes,
you’ve guessed it, we will be unveiling a new colour of t-shirts at
the opening. These will be a limited edition so make sure you get
yours!
Last,
we are over the moon to be hosting a class
and jam at the Beacon Arts Centre in November,
thanks to our wonderful friend and dancer Gail Sneddon. We will have
a one hour class followed by a jam on Saturday 25 November in one of
the most beautiful dancing spaces in the whole of Scotland. Make sure
you put it in your diary. Don’t say we did not give you notice!
See
you at the jam in September, if not before!

'Jam'
is derived from engagement with @TheGlasgowJam, Glasgow’s hub for
contact improvisation. It is the result of an interest in drawing
within a context of live dance and movement. The work represents an
intense and sustained period of exploratory and experimental drawing
as well as subsequent developments from these drawings in a variety
of media.
