Important annoucement – June 2016 jams

We, @TheGlasgowJam, have always been proud to serve the community that has grown around us since our first jam in January 2013. This pride motivates us to run our unique programme of jams, workshops and classes. We hope that each of you feel proud to be a part of it all too.

Today, we remain a volunteer-led organisation. This means we are reliant on the generous voluntary work of particular individuals and on you, our community, to keep us running. Our structure means that small changes can have a significant effect on our economic viability.

One such change is the fluctuation in attendance. Most of the time we can absorb this but, unfortunately, numbers at recent jams have been unusually low. This has caused us to need to take some short-term action to sustain @TheGlasgowJam.

So, in the short term, we need to run less jams. So in June, ONLY the Global Underscore will run (June 19th).

We hope that this is a short term situation. As Co-Directors, we regularly reassess the suitability of our pricing structure, funding possibilities and more generally improve at our sustainability. In the meantime, we need to ask for your help.

What can you do to help?

We're asking you to think about how you already and might in the future support the jam:

– Could you aim to attend more regularly yourself ?
– Could you encourage friends to come too?
– Could you share your experiences with us on social media to help widen our audience?
– Or would you be willing to make a donation of time or money?  If so get in touch with us directly at theglasgowjam@gmail.com

We are proud of @TheGlasgowJam and what we stand for.

WE are Scotland's only regular multi-disciplinary arts jam space
WE have taken our work to some of the most disadvantaged parts of Glasgow, and
WE have, and always will open up the jam to as many groups of people as possible

Please consider what you can do to support us now and into the future. Any support is always appreciated.
